Driving innovation is a vital role played by women in engineering, who also bring in different perspectives to problem-solving. They are successful across numerous disciplines notwithstanding issues like gender discrimination, such as computer programming and even space travel. Promoting more females to become engineers will lead to a diverse workforce that enhances creativity and advances technology.
The Women, in Engineering (WIE) Region 8 organization offers support and encouragement to engineers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Its focus is on promoting diversity and inclusivity, within the engineering field by providing networking, mentorship and opportunities for growth. Through fostering teamwork and creativity WIE Region 8 aims to reduce gender disparities and motivate women pursuing careers in engineering.
The Tunisia Section Chapter of IEEE WIE is committed to supporting women, in the field of engineering in Tunisia. It offers opportunities for networking, mentorship and career development promoting the involvement of women, in STEM disciplines. By organizing activities, sessions and partnerships the chapter seeks to empower female engineers and cultivate a diverse engineering environment in Tunisia.
The IEEE WIE IIT Student Affinity Group at IIT Sfax is dedicated to reducing the disparity between genders in technology and engineering sectors. Through hosting workshops, seminars and joint initiatives the group offers its members abilities and opportunities. Their goal is to motivate and assist students urging them to assume leadership positions, in STEM fields and help shape a varied and inventive tomorrow.
